Top Cars From Maserati

The world has seen some amazing automobile manufacturers that have been an asset to Italy for decades or centuries. Right, isn’t it? Maserati is one such well reputed Italian automobile manufacturer, about and over a century old, that took over the world’s automobile enthusiasts. The brand’s journey had a subtle beginning as a mere car repair shop in an Italian city in Bologna back in the first half of the second decade of the 20th century- we mean 1914. Today, the world know what it is- a poecilonym to the best of luxury and breath-taking style.

Pretty well known for its distinct sound, luxury, performance and design, the manufacturer is piling up numerous awards and records for the same. On such record is of ‘building 3000 luxurious world class cars’- huh. Throughout its history, the brand hardly built any car that won’t squeeze the word ‘Wow’ out of an average person. And, perhaps the word ‘Ow’ when one hears its prices (wide grin smilie)!

So, let us now have a look at the top and most amazing models that the Maserati brand has conceived.

Maserati Birdcage 75th Pininfarina Concept

How to put its looks into words- we are not really sure. What we can say is that it is surely unique- as special as the occasion it was meant for. The concept had its birth to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the automaker’s association with Pininfarina and held glances in the Geneva Auto show 2005. The model, though not accessible, of course, has a high estimate price- special thing as it is. Not only is the car a ‘top’ model, its price is ‘top’ as well. The single door Birdcage comes with the same Enzo Ferrari engine (F140 v12) under the carbon fibre MC12 race car chassis. Talk about its acceleration- floor the pedal and it will shoot to 60 miles per hour in just 3.5 seconds!

Engine: 6.0 Litres F140 V12 engine

Power output: 700 plus horsepower

Number of units made: concept

Current market value: $3.5 million

Top speed hit: 218 miles per hour

Gear system: six speed automatic transmission

Maserati MC12

Much of the spectators were left with a trembling knee when this super limited champion made its entry as a race car. Out of the total 62 pieces of MC12 produced, 12 were the sports (race) versions, that competed for numerous popular races. And when the 50 replicas of the road versions of MC12 had their birth in 2004 and 2005 (25 each year), not even one made its way to a showroom- for all had been presold for what looks like a luxury auction price! The price is worth every cent- just look at it. Interior boasts of silver Brightex, and blue leather which in themselves cost a considerable part of its price tag. If compared to Enzo Ferrari (MC12 is always compared with it- just FYI), MC12 comes with relatively smoother curves, wider and longer body along with a sharper ‘nose’ though it lags behind in acceleration.

Engine: 6.0L F140 V12

Power output: 460 plus Horsepower

Number of units made: 62

Current market value: $700,000 (approx.)

Top speed hit: 205 miles per hour

Gear system: six speed manual transmission

The 2014 concept, shown to the world at Geneva Auto show, Alfieri costs about $100,000. It is named Alfieri after one of the Maserati’s most prominent founder. The concept, a 4 person coupe, is quite a lot based on A6GCS, a 1950’s model designed by Pininfarina for the manufacturer. With the amazing looks as bold curves that it carries, Alfieri is a real head turner. The model’s production had its kick-start in 2016. First of its delivery is expected in 2018/19 and we are all too excited for it! A real contender in the line up for top cars from Maserati.

Engine: 4.7 litres V8 engine

Power output: 460 plus horsepower

Number of units made: under production

Current market value: $100,000

Top speed hit: 191 plus miles per hour

Gear system: Six speed automated manual transmission

Together with a six speed manual transmission, the model offers pretty good a performance. 0-60 miles per hour acceleration comes in just 3.8 seconds. Add to this the interior that will be pretty much something that one would ever dream as the luxury. You can get the latest design in the series for something around $130,000- we feel it like a steal.

The thing got the name due to its extreme noise- yea, it is a really loud demon. A demon in terms of performance as well- it is pretty fast and has the top speed of 183 mph. It holds the title of the sportiest convertible from the Italian brand. And what is more, the model, with all its cool features and performance, is among the Maserati bestsellers.

Engine: 4.7 Litres V8
